Seeing as the project as a whole is in relation to word count, the final artefact was made to tie back loosely to the overall concept. Rather than the direct visualisation of counting words, the objective of the artefact is to engage viewers in funnelling geometric letters into a small hole. The purpose of this is to also draw an indirect expression of the minute fraction of novel-length fanfiction, even when compared to popular novels. Viewers will be drawn in to “keep the screen clean” by sweeping as many letters as possible into the hole. However, as the hole is small, the number of forms that can pass through is limited. Thus creating a scene where the number of forms on-screen will be relatively greater than the number of forms that went through the hole before eventually resetting itself.
